This temporary, full-time, fully remote position is expected to last 3-months.

The UX/UI Developer is responsible for monitoring and creating the user experience and ensuring that websites, software programs and products are easy to understand and to use. Their duties include reviewing user feedback to determine potential defects or areas for clarity, working closely with other IT professionals and company personnel to refine user experience and performing usability tests on software products or website features to ensure functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct user research including observation, personal interviews, and user forms and surveys.
  • Develop content strategy by analyzing content, understanding user preferences, and determining the appropriate balance of text and images.
  • Create information architecture to present information in a meaningful way.
  • Perform interaction design to accommodate user behavior, actions, and reactions.
  • Ensure visual design aligns with overall purpose and visual appeal, including typography and aesthetics.
  • Focus on usability and analytics to measure and improve user experience.
  • Use metrics to analyze tasks and user interactions, iterating designs to enhance effectiveness.
  • Provide system environment background, specifications, and other relevant information.
  • Design and develop web software and application systems.
  • Develop functional and technical specifications.
  • Track development tasks and progress using Team Foundation Server and Trello.
  • Lead software development and testing case development.
  • Produce deliverables related to application installation and configuration.
  • Provide post-implementation support, as required.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s/Advanced Degree from an accredited university or college, with a preference for a degree in Computer Science, Web Design or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience
  • A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work for both web and mobile platforms.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Drupal 10 architecture and best practices
    • CK Editor and Paragraphs modules
    • TFS (Team Foundation Server) task management system
    • UX design principles and best practices
    • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
    • Drupal theming and theming frameworks
    • Faceted search
    • Filtering
    • 508 and WCAG 2.2 AA
  • Experience with:
    • Developing custom Drupal modules and themes
    • Integrating third-party modules and services into Drupal
    • Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (designers, developers, project managers)
    • Using TFS to assign and track tasks
    • Conducting user research and usability testing

The annual target salary range for this role is between $88,000 and $98,000 (depending on qualifications). As a temporary position, this role does not include health or retirement plan benefits but is eligible for paid holidays.
